I have lived here, at the Chachan Plantation, for nearly a year now. Each day that passes a new experience with the land, nature, animals, inspire me to write about it and still it has taken all this time to sit down at the computer and sum up through mere characters on the screen the emotion invoked by some of the wonders and not so wonderous things I see.

Today I saved a lizard from the clenches of Jack’s claws. I nursed the lizard back for nearly 4 hours until he was able to climb again. On this same day of saving one life, I lost another. I fell to my knees in grief when I found our beloved “Little One” dead under the shed. Flashes of thought went through my head as the tears stung my cheeks. He, out of all the cats, was the smallest and yet the most fierce at hunting, and chasing anything that moved. I suspect he chased a snake who attacked back. It’s a part of nature, we all return to our soul once we are finished with these bodies.

Still it does not ease the pain of losing the love and relationship of a living being.

So Little One has prompted me what so many other things have tried, a written account of perhaps some of the most lovely experiences and the most life changing at times. Life is short and should I take my last breath anytime soon I would want others to know I had lived my life fully and intently. I have sucked the marrow out of life and god willing, I will continue to do so.

Thank you Little One for being a fiercly wonderful spirit who blessed our lives for the time that you have. You will be missed.
